A very Happy Christmas........

Hello everyone

Just a quick post to wish all my lovely followers, DT buddies, friends and everyone in the blogosphere a very happy and magical Christmas and a peaceful New Year.   I've been confined to bed for the last 5 days with pleurisy so it's my first day up and about so hopefully over the weekend I'll continue to get better ready for the Christmas festivities.  We're off up to London to stay with my sister Val of Canonbury Creations and to see my lovely great nephew Charlie (who I'm sure you already know about......!).

Looking forward to seeing you all in the New Year - hope you all enjoy yourselves.

I've finished!!!

Hi Everyone

Just a quick post today.  Thought I'd share the last 3 Christmas cards I've made.  Hopefully that's all the cards done and everything posted that needs to be...........until you get one from someone you've forgotten!!! lol

Come and see what I did

On these three cards I've used Heartfelt Creations Christmas Poinsettia stamps and the matching die (which also matches Sunkissed Fleur).  The sentiment is from their Sweet Memories set and the trees come from Anna Marie's Christmas Tree set.

I've stamped the Poinsettias onto patterned vellum and gold embossed them.   I've used an 8x8 Embossalicious e/f and Spellbinders circle and scalloped circle nesties.  The Stampin Up bow die came into play and bling is from my stash.

I have used Poppystamps Grand Gothic Iron Work and Grand Gothic Window for the centre card with a wintery scene behind the window.  I used Taylored Expressions Basic Bow die.  The sentiment is Stampin Up Greetings of the Season cut out using SU bauble punch.  Corners are Cheery Lyn Lace Corner Deco die.

Right better get off - just getting my things gathered for our Santa's Grotto in the village hall tomorrow.

Have a great weekend.

Addicted to CAS - Challenge #28

Hello everyone - welcome to a brand new challenge at Addicted to CAS and our last one for this year.........where has the time gone?  Think I'm just getting old!!!  lol

Here is your code word for this challenge:

and your host for this is none other than ME!
Our fab Sponsor for the challenge is:

and Kathryne is offering 5 free digis for our CAS Perfectionist

For my card I have used one of Kathryne's digital stamp sets called Snow Day which has some gorgeous digis in it.

I started off by using Sparkles Stencil from Imagination Crafts with some white Dreamweaver embossing paste.  When I took the stencil off I dusted it with crystal Glamour Dust and set it aside to dry.  Once dry I sponged the piece with Tumbled Glass DI.

I printed out two of the snowmen on my laser printer and silver foiled each of them.  I coloured using Promarkers and added Glittered Snow on their hats.  I cut a piece of acetate to size and attached it to the back of the embossed piece of card to allow it to bow in the front.  I attached my two snowmen and added some more Glittered Snow to ground them.  The sentiment is part of the digi stamp set and I cut it out using my Spellbinders Fancy Labels 1.

I also added some "snow" to the sentiment and a couple of gems before attaching it to the acetate.  The last touch was to die cut a Whimsy Stamps snowflake from vellum.  I attached this to a narrow piece of acetate which I glued to the back of the card to allow it to "hang" freely.  This was also glittered.

Here is a close up of the snowmen and you can actually see the silver foiling on the right hand side snowman.

Can't wait to see what ideas you come up with and I'll be popping by your blogs to have a closer look.

I'm also entering this into the Keep it Simple challenge which is "Snow".

Happy crafting.

Another birthday card........ Happy Birthday Val

After a fairly hectic few weeks I spent yesterday trying to clear up my craft room which looked like the proverbial had hit it!!!  lol  So, with a semblance of normal I can now see the wood for the trees and can get back to some crafting........eg making some Christmas cards which I haven't started yet :o(  I've piled up all my stock from Saturday in a bedroom as I have another "do" in a couple of weeks time, so it's not worth unpacking and putting away only to get it all out again.

So today is my sister Val's birthday and I thought I'd share with you the card I made for her.

I have used the Art Deco stamps and papers from Papermania again, this time using the Art Deco Flapper stamp set, matching papers and a gift envelope which I put my sentiment into.  I made a criss cross card and slipped the main image piece inside (you can see that on the second photo).  The sentiment and martini glass & umbrella are from the same stamp set.  I used the matching embossing folder on a piece of holographic silver card and I glittered the Flapper and decoupaged her feather wrap to give a bit of dimension.  Flowers, lace and ribbon are from my stash.

Pop on over to Val's blog to wish her a Happy Birthday.

Happy crafting.

Can you guess what it is yet?????

Hello everyone - I've just got back from a Christmas Fair which was pretty successful - yippee!!!  Now, be warned, you'll probably need a cuppa for this post as it's WAY photo-heavy!

So, firstly as I've mentioned before I was very busy leading up to this fair making things - hence the question "can you guess what it is yet?"  Here's a clue:

Have you guessed?  Here it is in all it's glory.............

A fabric Christmas tree...........
and the surprise?????

full of yummy choccies!!!
These are quite large at about 12" high so you can get lots of Ferrrero Rocher in it!!!!  lol

And all the following photos show the goodies I've been making for the Christmas merry-go-round:

A fabric box similar to the Christmas Tree but with a shaped base

A fabric casket (which was filled with Ferrero Rocher today)

Another fabric wine box

Some decorated candles

A fabric After Eight Box - full, of course!!!

Tea light holders and boxes of After 8's

And lastly a couple of photos of my table today - I really, really needed two tables as I couldn't fit all my stuff on one 6 foot table but they were expensive (£25 each) and you need to know you will cover the cost of the table and then make some money for yourself.  Still, I'm doing another one in a couple of weeks time and I've got two tables for that which will be good.

It was lovely seeing Jill and her Mum, Heather, today - they were having a day out and we were the second craft fair they had been to and were heading off for Stourhead..........the best weather to see it in all its glory - hope you both had a great time.

Right better go and see to some dinner preparation.  Hope I haven't bored you silly...............have a wonderful weekend wherever you are and whatever you're doing - just think in four weeks time it will be all over!!!!!

Happy crafting.

Catching up..............

Hello all - no I've not disappeared but have been slaving away over a hot craft desk making "stuff" for a big Christmas Fair on the 30th and my list seems to be getting longer and the time shorter!!!  lol

Just thought I'd share with you some paperweights I've made to sell at the fair.  I actually got the paperweight blanks last week and thought they would make nice Christmas presents.  Luckily I had some nice sticky backed velvet to seal the underneath and the right size boxes to fit them into.

Here they are:

Oh, there are also some brooches and a pair of earrings that I made as well.  Hope it's going to be a busy fair otherwise I'm going to have to find a home for all this stuff!!!  lol  I also found a greyboard cupcake stand that I covered and assembled as I thought it would show off these paperweights nicely.

Don't forget to pop back on Saturday for our new challenge over at Addicted to CAS.

Happy crafting.

Christmas Shoe Box challenge

Hello everyone - a very quick post from me today as I've been out all day at a workshop.  On Wednesday we had our normal Crafty Bunch club night and we gave the girls a Christmas Shoe Box - which isn't a box but a pack of various Christmas items.  The girls had to use every element we gave them but could add to it with their own stash.  It never fails to amaze us how you can get so many different cards from the same ingredients.  Here are a couple of photos to show you the results.

Hope you're all having a great weekend.

Happy crafting.
